Nikki Haley, who served as UN ambassador for President Trump, said on Tuesday that she planned to use her Christmas vacation to consider a prospective 2024 presidential candidacy.
This comes despite her vow from the previous year that she would not run if Trump decided to run twice.
Haley Changes Her Tune
Throughout a Turning Point USA-sponsored gathering at her alma mater, Clemson University, the former governor of South Carolina stated that they’re using the holidays to sort of assess the situation and should they choose to pursue it, will devote one hundred percent and complete it.
Haley’s Trying to Build Up To a Run
Similar to Haley’s comments during the Republican Jewish Coalition event in Las Vegas, wherein she was one of ten prospective Republican White House candidates who presented their pitches at the party’s first significant conference of the 2024 election cycle.
It’s clear that these sentiments are reminiscent of those made.
Haley stated at Clemson University on Tuesday that she’s never lost an election, and she’s certainly not about to begin now.

In April 2021, on a trip to a historically black institution in her state of residence, Haley responded affirmatively to the question of whether she’d endorse a future Trump candidacy for president. Haley also stated that she wouldn’t pursue her party’s candidacy if Trump ran.
She said that she would not run if President Trump ran and that she’d prefer to talk with him about it.
Haley’s staff members on Tuesday refused to speculate on whether such a discussion had occurred or what had prompted Haley to alter her attitude regarding what 2024 may contain for her currently that Trump is definitely a candidate.
Haley, who worked as governor of South Carolina for six years before Trump invited her to serve his administration, was U.N. ambassador for 2 years before resigning voluntarily.
In the subsequent years, he moved back to South Carolina, launched a political committee, and published a memoir, all of which hinted at a possible run for national office.

Similar to previous Vice President Mike Pence and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Haley has maintained a balance between condemnation and admiration of the previous president.
Following the assault on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, Haley stated that Trump was extremely “negligent” in inciting the audience prior to the riot and that his activities since Election Day will be harshly judged by history.
Trump May Contend Against Haley
Ever since, Haley has lauded the government’s achievements and, in early 2021, supported her previous employer stating that he is “opinionated.”
A Trump campaign spokesperson did not respond immediately to a request for clarification on Haley’s statements on Tuesday.
Taylor Budowich, a former Trump spokeswoman who now works for his super PAC, MAGA Inc., rejected Haley by stating that it was “saddening” to watch people like her try to still ride Trump’s coattails.
